Good afternoon Effort family. I hope you had a blessed week. Last Sunday I mentioned a new ministry that I want to remind you about today. The extreme weather events that we’ve seen around our country have caused us to think about what happens if we’re hit with something in Fluvanna. How would we serve our community in a way that honors God?
These conversations have resulted in the creation of an Emergency Action Team. This group of people would focus primarily on emergency response activities such as cutting up trees that block access to homes, or are in danger of causing additional damage for our congregation and community. Attached, is a document that provides some additional information for you. We’d love for you to be a part of this ministry. If you are interested respond to pastor@effortchurch.org with your name, contact information and any related skills.
Thank you for your generosity in donating items for hurricane relief. Volunteers are transporting our second batch of supplies down to Danville tomorrow. We have also been in contact with local churches and the BGAV to determine when we’ll be able to send teams to help with the reconstruction work. I’ll send out some more specific information in a couple of weeks. Until then, continue praying!

Annual Meeting Next week!
Mark your calendars now and be sure to attend our annual meeting to vote on the budget and elect church councilors and trustees. Sunday September 24th at 12:15 in the FLC.
Glass Slipper Homecoming Dress Sale
Dress and accessory donations are being accepted in the church office Monday through Friday, from 9AM-4PM. The sale will be held Saturday, September 23rd, in the Sanctuary from 9AM – 1PM. For more information contact Kim Feight, kimfeight@gmail.com
