Good afternoon. I believe that God does not do anything by accident. This means that all of us have been called specifically to this place for this season. In other words, God has plans for each of us. It also means that God placed Effort in Fluvanna with the purpose of serving our community.

These ideas have driven us to many hours of prayer and conversation with community leaders to discover the unique ways that we can be the hands and feet of Jesus in this place. One clear mission that’s emerged from these conversations is the need for decent care and housing for seniors. Part of meeting this need involves helping with maintenance and minor home repairs so that seniors can age in place. But a rising need is to help with transitional housing needs. As some navigate the complicated world of insurance, home nursing, and retirement homes there is the need for short term housing to help in the transition.

How can you help? First, you can join with us as we pray for God’s guidance to clarify how we can partner with Him to meet the needs of our community. Second, if you have space and are willing to have a conversation about potentially providing short-term housing, contact me. We have some opportunities to serve right now.

I can’t wait to see all of you this Sunday as we worship God together.

Grace & Peace,
