Tomorrow night (Tuesday October 8th) we have the opportunity to share God’s love and serve our community by helping feed the hungry at the Charlottesville Salvation Army (207 Ridge Street).
We find Jesus proclaiming this in Matthew’s gospel account: ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
If you are available to help, here are some ways you can participate:
* Meet at Effort Church at 4PM if you’d like to carpool over to the Salvation Army.
* Meet at the Salvation Army at 4:30PM to help prepare food/set up. We serve the first group at 5:45. We normally finish by 7PM.
* Bring in dessert items, cookies, brownies or cake. These items can be dropped in the church office anytime before 4PM tomorrow.
* Donate monetarily to help cover the cost of the food.
