Interesting and lengthy Council meeting tonight.
Opened with prayer and then Pastor Matt opened a discussion of how much pressure and burnout people (especially Council members were feeling). There are lots of issues people are feeling today, often coming without warning. Chaos vs. Pattern. Discussion admitted that several are definitely feeling the pressure. Encouragement to find others to talk to and exchange ideas with.
Welcome to new Council members Rachel Besecker and Nate Brown.
Business: Election of Officers. Rob Jones continues as Chair. Nate Brown elected as Secretary.

The Chair requested that the Secretary include Staff and Committee reports in the uploaded Council minutes. Also develop a method of tracking Council action items.
Finance Committee presented a report on the financial misinterpretation of the PPP loan that was reported to the Congregation in the Chair’s Church Life email of 10/27 and the impact on the year’s budget. Result is that the church is still financially solvent but the two $50K lines intended to fund the move back to the Sanctuary are no longer directly funded. After debate it was voted that the amended budget will be presented to the Congregation at a Special Called Meeting on 11/21.
Presentation from Administrator on upgrades and repairs ongoing on church property and associated costs.
Presentation from Family Pastor on need to increase efficiency of storage in Kid Zone by ministries, including purchase of shelving.
Pastor Search: Next meeting 11/7. Aggregation of Meeting 1 information in progress. Staff assembling data on membership/attendance. Staff to have a separate meeting with CHC.
New Council member to be appointed by Council iaw Bylaws for one year. Probably at next meeting 11/11.
Lengthy debate over whether Council has authority over major changes to Worship. Do changes get presented to Congregation for approval?
Motion: All major changes to worship services will be presented by Pastoral Staff to Council for approval. Pass 4-1
