The relationship between Effort Church Palmyra and Effort Church Liberia started many years ago and Effort has had the opportunity to partner in many ways with the local church, extension ministries, and the community. This year we will be embarking on Effort’s 11th trip to Liberia!
Tonight we will be having an interest meeting at 7PM in the Sanctuary for anyone interested in hearing more about Liberia, unique ways to partner, and even how to join the team for this January! As you have heard, we are partnering with Beautiful Gate as an opportunity to fellowship and serve together.
This year’s trip has several components and all talents are needed.
We will be hosting a Legs for Liberia 5K with Effort Church Liberia providing trade scholarships to those within the walls of the church and those within the community. This is something both Efforts have done in the past and the Liberia church leadership has asked us to partner with them again. They have incredible testimony of how these scholarships opened the hearts and minds of the participants to hear the name of Jesus.
Pediatric Medical Care- As we go around to our ministry sites we will have the opportunity to meet physical needs as we take the time to get to know the community. We know that Jesus’s ministry modeled this well. Jesus spoke into people’s lives, speaking truth and love while meeting them right where they are. We will also conduct a 3 day pediatric medical clinic in the interior where Ebola orphans are many and the need is great.
Some of our areas of ministry: Effort Church Liberia, church plants, schools, 2 orphanages, a children’s disability home, and Samaritan’s Purse Girls Home- THINK
If you are intrigued or excited about hearing what God is doing, please join us tonight at 7pm in the Fellowship room. No qualifications or medical knowledge needed (God will use the gifts He has given you). A trip of the nature can be scary but I encourage you to take some time and hear what God is saying and see how He is moving. Please join us as we pray and see how God wants us to move. We always want to remember that its all about Him, His agenda, and His Love for all people.
The Fluvanna Christian Service Society is gearing up for their Christmas Happy Face program. They will be collecting new toys as usual, but are also collecting gently used bicycles as well. If you have children bikes in good working order and would like to donate, please contact Jason Bird in the Church Office, firstname.lastname@example.org. ... See MoreSee Less
