Firstly, Welcome to our family!

Effort Church is a place where people act like family, not good acquaintances. We are small enough that you can feel seen and known, but large enough that you don't feel relationally claustrophobic. Like family does, we care well for each other, whether that's offering an invitation or offering a loving challenge. The tension in the space helps us, as a church, grow and find true empowerment as the body of Christ, rather than what can sometimes feel like a "country club church."

how do i become part of the effort family?

We have many ways to engage in community and faith formation for all ages.

Attending a service is a good place to start.

You can attend live at 10:00AM in our Sanctuary Building (the one with the steeple).
We have two ways to attend services online (although we recommend the option 1 for stability and for the best experience):
  1. On our dedicated Church Online Platform on Sundays at 10:00AM (a mosaic of worship expression)
  2. On our Facebook page on Sundays at 10:00AM (a mosaic of worship expression)

Finding community and spiritual growth is next.

  • For parents: we have a dedicated parents small group.
  • For children/kids/teens: there are fun activities, events and small groups we hold. Many of our teen gatherings include multiple churches around Fluvanna!
  • For adults, we offer Sunday morning classes, as well as Bible studies and small groups that run throughout the week.
  • For 50 and up we have “Young at Heart” that meets Thursdays at 11:30 in the Fellowship Room in the Sanctuary (building with the steeple).
  • For all ages, we have Wednesday night supper and bible study/classes (seasonal – not currently meeting).

Joining God's work in the community and beyond.

We have incredible opportunities to serve our local community and beyond through missions like Effort Comfort and Mobility (providing medical equipment at no cost), serving the hungry with the Blue Ridge Mobile Food Pantry that operates on our campus once a month, mission work in Liberia, ministering to the incarcerated and more.
