Our Values
Beliefs are not worth much unless they are translated into actions (James 2:14-26). Our core values provide a path for translating belief into action.
We doctrinally follow the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message, found here:
Purposeful with our Mission
The church is the hands and feet of God. As God’s image-bearing humans, we seek to model a healthy balance of living. We devote our lives to following God, together, which overflows into spreading the love of God outward toward Fluvanna, Central VA, and world. To be effective, we believe in the importance of being purposeful with our mission in everything we do and say.
Authentic in all relationships
We are willing to be sincere and transparent in our relationships with God and with each other. This includes being honest (Matthew 5:37), honorable (Luke 6:45), and humble (Philippians 2:3).
Welcoming of all people
We welcome everyone into relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, friendship, discipleship, and communion by showing them God’s grace and mercy – just as we were shown.
Generous with our lives
We serve an indescribably generous God. God loved us so much that he gave His Son so that all who believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. Being generous is an attitude of being a blessing to others in whatever way you can.
Relevant to our community
Relevance means we seek to serve the community’s physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical needs in a way that meets the community where they are. We are called to connect the never-changing good news of Jesus Christ with an ever-changing world. Therefore, relevance is a top-priority.
