Busy, Busy, Busy ...

"Busy, busy, busy. Rush, rush, rush. No time for the things that are truly important." "I am so busy I do not know what is truly important anymore." I hear these comments from family, friends, co-workers and others more often than not. I watch parents pick up children rushing to get to the next thing. I too find myself rushing to the next thing. Like the next thing is any better than the first thing. And that is when it hits me. What is my first thing? What is my first thing in the morning? If I can answer that it was time with God, in His Word, in prayer. Then it is a day that is filled with a clear sense of direction and purpose, a sense of peace and hope. Jesus gives us examples. In Mark 1:35 "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed." I ask myself, if Jesus found time, and we know the crazy schedule he lived out, what is my excuse? If Jesus needed time with the Father, I most certainly, need time with the Father. I am guessing you do too?
