Good afternoon EBC family. I’m praying that you get outside today to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation! You do not want to miss this Sunday. Jenny Faulknier has an incredible message ready about a really interesting idea. Come on out and be inspired and challenged.
Today is my last day in the office before my sabbatical. I will be out until Aug. 6th. I’m really excited about the lineup of speakers. We have some great people filling the pulpit and you don’t want to miss any of the incredible content and stories.
If you missed the past couple of weeks, you may be asking yourself what is a sabbatical or why is my pastor going. The short answer is that sabbatical is an extended period of rest designed to give God space to give fresh vision and next steps. The longer version is that God has been speaking pretty clearly to me since January about the next season in the life of our church. I am very pumped up about what he has in store for us! This sabbatical time is space to gain clarity and energy so that we can hit the ground running when I get back in August.
From a practical standpoint, the church is in able hands for the next month and a half. If you have any questions then you can contact the church office and Matt O’Rear or Jason Bird will help you. Or, you can always contact the chair of church council, Tami Bourne.
I’ll miss you guys but I’ll see you in August.
