Making space for God and others this Spring

Making space for God and others this Spring

Celebrations, men’s breakfast, tacos, walks with Jesus, outreach parties and more.

You cannot create intimacy; you must make room for it.

These words from a sermon struck me. The pastor spoke about creating space to spend time with God and developing a relationship with Him. However, the concept carries over into all of our relationships. As I prayed with staff and council about this summer, we wanted to create spaces to develop relationships within our Effort Church Family. I pray the calendar reflects that well. We wanted to create spaces within our church family (Taco Tuesdays), within our community (Outreach Parties (Block Parties), and within our school (Summer ECSP Chapel) to develop relationships. Plus, we get to send our students on a mission trip to Charlotte in June, AND Mission Kids is launching for Effort Kids in May!

I pray you join us for dinner every other Tuesday and make some new connections. I pray you help host our block parties. I pray you can jump in on Tuesdays to help teach our summer school kids about Jesus. Moreover, I pray you find time to connect with others within our church and develop deep and meaningful relationships. Your presence and engagement are invaluable to our church community!

Grace & Peace,

Pastor Boschen‘d%20like%20to%20help!

We will have the ECSP classes rotate to our team and run a VBS-like hour for them. Most of our summer registrations are below 5. So this will be lots of fun, along with singing with some games, crafts, and snacks. These Chapels are on our taco Tuesdays, so we can spend time with our school families and invite them to dinner with us that evening! If you’d like to be a part of this summer’s chapel team, please email Pastor Boschen at ( .

We are going to bring the fun to a neighborhood near you! We’re looking to bring a cookout (grilling burgers and dogs), fun (inflatables, crafts, and games), and Jesus to our community. We’ve run into a few roadblocks with hosting spaces. However, we know God is moving.

Our current hope is to host a block party at Village Oaks Clubhouse on 6/9, at the Sycamore Square Pavillion on 7/14, and as part of back-to-school night for ECSP on 8/23. We will need lots of help to make everything run smoothly. Our hope is that beyond crafting the space, people can be around to make connections with folks from the neighborhood, invite people, and create relationships.
